How to get to Riomaggiore

Riomaggiore is the first Cinque Terre village coming from La Spezia. The train is the easy option; driving only makes sense with a reserved space.

By train (the easy option)

Riomaggiore station is on the La Spezia–Sestri Levante regional line. From La Spezia Centrale regional trains take about 8–10 minutes. From Pisa or Genoa you change at La Spezia. Cinque Terre trains are frequent in season; buy a ticket or Cinque Terre Card before boarding. From the station you walk into the village; the apartments sit higher on Via De Gasperi, so a local taxi or a car arrival is kinder if you have heavy bags.

By car

From the A12 take La Spezia–Santo Stefano Magra, then follow Cinque Terre / Riomaggiore. The last stretch is narrow and winding. Do not drive into the historic centre. Aim for Via De Gasperi and the reserved space: without a booking you can circle with nowhere to leave the car. Details and price are on the parking page.

By plane

Pisa (PSA) is the most convenient airport, then train to La Spezia and a regional to Riomaggiore. Genoa (GOA) works from the north. From Milan or Florence, high-speed trains reach La Spezia or Pisa, then the regional.

By ferry

From spring to early autumn ferries link the villages and La Spezia / Porto Venere, weather allowing. You land at Riomaggiore marina in the heart of the village; Via De Gasperi is an uphill walk or a short transfer.

Once you arrive

Check-in is from 14:00 to 19:00. Share your arrival time at least an hour ahead. Mythos and Helios are self-catering: shop in La Spezia or along Via Colombo. The trails (Via dell’Amore when open, the path to Manarola and the coves) start from the village — you do not need the car for day hikes.
